A FEW OF MY PROJECTS

Recreation

Recreation & Education Center for Inner-City Youth
Kearny, NJ

My guiding principle while developing the floor plan and interiors was that this building’s mission is to support opportunities for inner-city youth to develop their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive abilities by exploring their creativity, leadership experience, team building, and friendship.

Hospitality

HILLCREST - A Farm-to-Table Restaurant
San Francisco Bay Area, CA

The interior finishes are based on a rustic farmhouse design inspired by local farms and the outdoor scenery. The walls are mostly of natural stone, in contrast to the vaulted wooden beams that comprise the ceiling of the “greenhouse”, known as the communal dining area. The transition provides a natural separation between the intimate table settings of a traditional restaurant to a more lively communal dining experience, as evident in rustic farmhouse life. The natural materials used creates a more organic environment for a cohesive experience, blending the setting with the cuisine.

Residential

Modular Sustainable Residence
Montauk, NY

The client is a 45-year-old professional writer, editor, and publisher who works from her home studio. She requests a warm rustic, yet contemporary home with sustainable design solutions, hence the modular construction. The house should be situated in such a way to take full advantage of the views and provide the maximum amount of natural light. However, she stresses the importance of privacy, given that she invites clients to her studio for work and wants them completely separated from the private living areas of her home.
